Speaker: Dr. Norm Rosene

Topic: Animal Rescue in Nepal, Indonesia, and St. Thomas

After graduating from Pleasant Valley High School in 1975, Norm received a B.S. in Zoology and a M.S. in Physiology from UC Davis, and then a D.D.S. (Dentistry) at UC San Francisco. Dr. Rosene has a private dental practice here in Chico (32 years now) and is the owner and winemaker of Odyssey Winery and Vineyards. Norm likes to fly, being a private pilot and Co-Founder, Board Member and Past President of the Chico Air Museum. He is a Board Member and Vice-President of the North Valley Animal Disaster Group and a Technical Rescue Responder and Instructor for the IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare). Norm and his wife Janice have been married 36 years.

The animal rescue organization of which Norm is a part is used as a model for others elsewhere in the world, and was the first one in the United States to be deployed by FEMA during a disaster.
